It is a combination of DG Set and PV modules to jointly generate power to fulfill client’s load requirement, ensuring maximum saving of diesel and drawing maximum power from Solar modules. To achieve better control on Fuel saving in the overall system, a PLC based Power Management System is developed to increase the reduction of consumption of fuel depending on the configuration and simultaneously ensure smooth operation. This can be installed in Open house and can also be containerized to make the entire system modular.
For ease in transportation and quick installation, a modular containerized 20 KW Diesel – PV Hybrid system can be developed. This containerized Modular Diesel – PV Hybrid system is housed in robust steel containers built from structural steel. Dimensions of the containerized system will align to ISO dimensions of Hi-cube cargo container for ease of transportation.
Outer and Inner surface of the container will be coated with finest paints making it suitable to withstand tough climatic conditions. The container will be constructed to be capable of being handled for frequent transportation, this will be with corner fittings for ease of loading and unloading. Genset compartment within this container will be insulated from inside for purpose of acoustic and thermal insulation.
Diesel – PV hybrid power generation system reduces GHG (Green House Gas) emission from DG Set exhaust and contributes to saving the environment. The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under the Kyoto Protocol to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) provides an opportunity for the Global power sector to earn revenue through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), particularly carbon dioxide (CO2). Solar power generation or Diesel – PV Hybrid power generation can also present themselves as eligible CDM projects, as these would also result in energy savings and displace associated CO2 emissions which otherwise would be produced by DG Sets running hundred percent on diesel.
Diesel – PV hybrid system will give saving of minimum 17% on fuel and 17% on overall operation and maintenance cost.
Carbon Emission Reduction because of solar (tCO2 / annum)
Carbon Emission because of Diesel (tCO2 / annum)
Diesel consumption of DG Set 89%
Diesel save because by Solar 17%
