Spare part categories
| Category | Examples | Notes on brands |
|---|---|---|
| Filters | Oil, fuel and air filters, water separators | Each engine model has a specific part number, matched from the rating plate |
| Batteries and charging | Starting batteries, chargers, terminals | Chosen by the cranking current the engine needs, not by size alone |
| Cooling system | Radiators, hoses, water pumps, thermostats, coolant | Coolant type follows each manufacturer's recommendation |
| Fuel system | Injectors, fuel pumps, fuel lines | These differ between Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar and Kirloskar even at similar ratings |
| Electrical and control | AVR voltage regulators, sensors, breakers, control panels | Some relate to the alternator rather than the engine, so we need details of both |
Which generator spare parts do you supply?
We supply the parts a generator needs for routine servicing and repair, from the filters and batteries that are replaced regularly to engine parts, alternator components and control panels. The aim is for you to find the right part in one place, together with the technical advice that ensures it fits your generator exactly.
Alemtiaz Kuwaiti is an Ahmadi-based company that supplies diesel generator spare parts for Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar, Kirloskar and other brands, with fitting by our maintenance team across Kuwait.
The most requested parts include:
- Filters: oil, fuel and air filters and water separators.
- Batteries and charging: starting batteries, chargers and terminals.
- Cooling system: radiators, hoses, water pumps, thermostats and coolant.
- Fuel system: injectors, fuel pumps and fuel lines.
- Electrical parts: automatic voltage regulators (AVR), sensors, breakers and control panels.
- Engine parts: belts, gaskets, service kits and starter motors.
Which brands are parts available for?
We supply parts for the generator engines most widely used in Kuwait, namely Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar and Kirloskar, as well as the brands we supply such as Eicher and Cooper. If your generator is from another brand, send us the details from its rating plate and we will source the required part with you and explain the available options before you order.
How can I be sure a part fits my generator?
The most common mistake when buying spare parts is relying on the look or general name of a part. A filter that looks identical may differ in filtration grade or pressure rating, and a battery of the same size may not deliver the cranking current your engine needs. When you order, we therefore ask for:
- The generator brand, model and rating in kVA.
- The engine model and serial number from the rating plate fixed to it.
- The part number of the old part if printed on it, or a clear photo of it.
With this information we match the part to the manufacturer’s specification, so you get the right part first time.
This step matters most for older or reassembled generators, where the engine may come from one brand, the alternator from another and the control panel from a third. In these cases we verify each component separately rather than relying on the brand name on the canopy, so you do not have to return a part or delay a repair.
When should filters and oil be changed?
Change intervals follow running hours and the manufacturer’s recommendations, typically every 250 hours for oil and the oil filter, and sooner for the air filter on dusty sites. A standby generator that runs rarely still needs an oil change at least once a year, because oil ages even without use. We have collected the usual intervals in our article on the generator maintenance schedule.
Why do generator batteries wear out quickly in Kuwait?
High heat accelerates the chemical reactions inside a battery and evaporates its electrolyte, shortening its life compared with milder climates. The battery is the leading reason a standby generator fails to start the moment the power goes. We therefore recommend checking the battery and charger monthly, cleaning corrosion from the terminals and replacing the battery at the first sign of weakness rather than waiting for it to fail completely. When choosing a new battery, we consider the cranking current your engine requires, not just its size.
Do you fit the parts as well?
Yes. You can buy a part on its own if you have a technician, or ask our generator maintenance team to fit it and test the generator after the repair. For heavy parts or urgent faults, our mobile workshop comes to your site, and our emergency maintenance service reaches you within 24 hours.
How can I extend the life of parts once fitted?
A good part only delivers its full life if the generator runs in sound conditions. A few simple habits extend part life and reduce how often you replace them:
- Use clean fuel and check the diesel tank for water and sediment, because contaminated fuel wears out injectors and fuel pumps early.
- Do not neglect the air filter on dusty sites, since a clogged filter raises fuel consumption and accelerates engine wear.
- Run standby generators under load periodically, because long runs without load leave deposits inside the engine and exhaust.
- Stick to the oil and coolant type recommended by the manufacturer, and never mix different types.
- Shield the generator from direct sun and sand where possible, which eases the strain on the battery, hoses and electrical connections.
Which parts are worth keeping in stock?
For remote sites or generators that cannot afford downtime, we recommend keeping a small stock of regularly consumed parts: a complete filter set, a fan belt, a supply of oil and coolant, and panel fuses. Having these parts on site often cuts repair time from hours to minutes. We can prepare a list tailored to your generators as part of a maintenance contract.
How do I order a spare part?
Send the generator and part details through the quotation request form or on WhatsApp, and we will reply with a quotation within an hour during working hours, Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. If you are considering replacing the generator rather than repairing it, browse our generators for sale and we will gladly help you compare the two options.
