What rental periods are available, and is there a minimum?

We rent generators on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly terms, so you choose the period that suits your project and never pay for time you do not need. Daily hire suits events, sudden breakdowns and planned power shutdowns. Weekly and monthly hire works well for construction sites, farms and chalets during the season, while yearly contracts serve industrial facilities and oil sites that need a prime or standby power source all year round. The contract can be extended, and the generator size changed during the rental if your loads change, so we swap the unit for a better match without stopping work on your site.

Alemtiaz Kuwaiti is an Ahmadi-based company that rents diesel generators on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly terms, with delivery, installation and commissioning within 24 hours across Kuwait.

Whatever you call it, a generator, a genset or a power unit, what matters is that you receive a machine of the right size, ready to run, backed by a team that understands your loads and your site conditions.

What does a generator rental include?

We keep our quotations clear from the start, listing everything you will receive so there are no surprise costs later. A rental normally covers:

  • Delivery to site anywhere in Kuwait, from city locations to farms and desert sites.
  • Installation and commissioning by technicians who connect the generator to your distribution board and test it under load before handover.
  • Fuel tanks and refuelling as agreed in the contract, so you can be confident the generator will not stop because it ran out of diesel.
  • Emergency maintenance within 24 hours, with a mobile workshop that comes to your site when needed.
  • Collection at the end of the term, including disconnection and removal from site.

How do I know what generator size I need?

Generator capacity is rated in kilovolt amperes (kVA), while your equipment is usually rated in kilowatts (kW). As a working rule, kW is roughly 80 per cent of kVA at a power factor of 0.8, so an actual load of 80 kW needs a generator of at least 100 kVA. We explain the difference in detail in our article on kVA versus kW.

Adding up the loads is not enough on its own. Three factors change the calculation:

  1. Starting current: central air conditioning, pumps and compressors draw several times their running current at start-up, and the generator must handle that moment without a voltage dip.
  2. Summer heat: usable output falls once temperatures pass the rated conditions, typically 25 to 40 °C, which is routine in a Kuwaiti summer, so we allow a sensible margin. See our article on how heat affects generator capacity.
  3. Expected growth: if the site will add equipment during the rental, it is better to choose a size that can carry it from day one.

If you are unsure of your loads, send us a list of the equipment or a photo of the distribution board, and our team will confirm the right size before sending the quotation.

What if the site is residential or the event needs quiet power?

In residential areas, weddings, exhibitions and camps, noise becomes an important factor. In these cases we select with you a generator fitted with a sound-attenuated canopy, and we plan its position and exhaust direction so it stays away from guests and homes. Availability and specifications are confirmed with the quotation.

Can the generator be moved between several sites?

Yes. We supply trailer-mounted generators with diesel tanks, which suit mobile work such as network maintenance, road works and oil sites where the job moves from one point to another. We agree the relocation schedule with you so the generator is in the right place at the right time.

What should be prepared on site before the generator arrives?

A little preparation shortens installation and makes operation safer. We usually ask customers to arrange the following:

  • Level, firm ground that can carry the weight of the generator and tank, away from water runoff and drifting sand.
  • Suitable access for the truck or trailer, with enough space to unload and manoeuvre.
  • Good ventilation around the generator, never in an enclosed space or close to windows and air conditioning intakes.
  • A clear connection point at the distribution board, or prior coordination with the electrician responsible for the site.

If you are unsure where the generator should go, our team will visit the site and propose a layout that balances safety with easy refuelling and servicing.

How do I order a rental generator?

  1. Contact us by phone, on WhatsApp or through the quotation request form.
  2. Tell us the site location, the expected duration and the equipment the generator will run.
  3. We send your quotation within an hour during working hours, Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
  4. Once approved, we deliver, install and commission the generator within 24 hours.

We have worked with the oil sector since 2015 and are an approved supplier to KOC, KNPC and KIPIC, so we understand the safety and documentation requirements of sites that demand them.

Is it better to rent a generator or buy one?

Renting is usually the more economical choice when the need is temporary or seasonal, or when you would rather not carry maintenance and storage costs. If the generator will run for most of the year, buying may make more sense over the long term, and our used generators offer a cost-effective route. We have set out the comparison criteria in our article on buying versus renting, and we are happy to help you work out the best option for your situation.
